I have had a number of responses regarding the structure for Division 2 and have decided that all teams will play each other twice, home and away, the league start date has been put back a week to allow for court bookings to be altered and will now start Tuesday Oct 21st and finishes 3rd March 2009, revised fixtures and contacts lists are attached, it is the responsibility of the captain to ensure visiting teams know start times and dates if different than those published. The inter club knock out competition will be split into 3 categories, A Cup – Division 1, B Cup – Division 2, C Cup – Division 3. The A Cup will be run as normal using the dates issued with the league fixtures. The B & C Cups will be played in two stages, there will be a group stage to determine the semi finalists, B Cup (Division 2) – 2 groups of 4 teams, C Cup (Division 3) – 2 groups of 3 Teams. All teams in each group will play each other with the two top teams in each group moving forward to the semi finals to be played as part of the finals weekend. The group matches will be played during March 2009. I will forward further details shortly.I believe this is the best solution for this season given the league structure we now have. I appologise for the changes to the fixtures. Thank you for your patience and co-operation.Please contact me to discuss any problems you may have. |

Further to the fixtures meeting I can finally confirm that there will be a Division 3 this year. To help the league get started we have concluded that teams will comprise 4 players. There are 6 teams who will play each other 3 times throughout the season. The proposed night for Division 3 fixtures will be Thursday. The rules will be the same as for Division 1 & 2 and teams from division 3 will take part in the B Inter Club Knock out cup competition. Rugby Club C have unfortunately had to pull out of division 2 due to lack of player numbers but will enter division 3 as a four player team, this obviously means that there are now only 8 teams in division 2, which gives us two options for the fixtures, you can either have additional free weeks where Rugby Club C would have played or we can make the fixtures with 8 teams playing each other 3 times with no free weeks. I have attached both fixtures lists for your review and response. I have got both division 2 & 3 starting next week. I will need confirmed team entry forms for all teams entering division 3 and also a number of teams from division 2, Schools C, D, & E. |
