Rugby Club are hosting the first Shropshire Squash Summer League Graded Championships Tournament on 8th and 9th August 2009. There will be a BBQ after the conclusion of the saturday matches with music and the bar will be open, there is camping space available and there will be breakfast provided, with the finals being played on sunday. In trying to promote Shropshire Squash and help our Professional Players raise their profile i have asked them to issue regular updates on their activities, this will be on Facebook and this site, so here is Jaymies latest blog.  

'As you may have possibly seen, I lost in Toulouse....to be honest it was a surprise and a bit ridiculous that I even got close to winning as I was quite badly injured after rolling my ankle a week ago. I only started the match (heavily strapped/braced) to avoid a penalty for withdrawing but ended up 2-0 up. At that stage I got quite tired due to having to use one leg. However, he also started playing better and moving me around more. Unfortunately, it's a missed opportunity as he has gone on to get to the 1/4 finals and I honestly feel I was playing at 70%.  Some good news was that the French Playoffs (13/14 June) were successful, not that I helped my team much as I didn't play due to ankle. Team Brest won the 2nd division, securing promotion to league 1 and meaning I'll have top quality matches at number 1 next season, such as Lincou, Gaultier, Golan and so on. 

Anyway, the good thing is that the ankle injury isn't too serious, another week and I'll be back on court. 

 I'm playing in the Mega Italia Open in Brescia next month. I may also be playing in a BSPA Elite tournament, I'll let you know when I do.'

Jaymie Haycocks recently played a tournament (Bremer Schlussel in Bremen) in Germany last weekend. Jaymie lost in the final to Laurens Jan Anjema (WR18) 3-0 but was a little hampered by a sore ankle, which he hurt at the end of the semi final, but all in all, it was a fairly successful tournament.

Jaymie is playing French league play offs this weekend in Aix en Provence, for Brest Squash Club and then a $15,000 tournament in Toulouse (Movida International) from the 15th June. More updates will follow thoughout the summer.
